Karon Selected for 2019 Massachusetts Super Lawyers® List

Posted December 06, 2019

For the twelfth consecutive year, Jonathan A. Karon, has been selected for the Annual list of Massachusetts Super Lawyers® in the area of plaintiff’s personal injury law published last month by Thomsom Reuters and appearing in Boston Magazine.

According to the publishers, only 5% of eligible Massachusetts attorneys are selected for the Super Lawyers® list. The selection process involves peer nominations, independent research and evaluations by other attorneys. “I’m honored to be included once again in a list with so many attorneys I respect,” said Mr. Karon. He was first selected for the list in 2008 and has been included every year since then. In addition to the Massachusetts Super Lawyers® list, Mr. Karon also has a “Superb” rating from the website Avvo.

Although proud to have these ratings from these organizations, Mr. Karon cautions against over-reliance on them. “The best way to find a good lawyer is to ask a lawyer who know and trust, who practices a different specialty, for a referral. If you don’t already know a good lawyer, then ask your friends, just like you would if you were looking for a good doctor, dentist or auto mechanic. Once you have a name, on-line or published ratings can provide additional, useful information, but it shouldn’t be the only thing you consider.”

According to Karon, “one of the most important things is that you’re comfortable with whoever is representing you. That can really only be determined in person. You need to be able to have trust and confidence in the lawyer representing you and that they can handle your case and answer your questions. That’s why I do not charge potential clients for an initial meeting to help them decide if they’d like me to assist them.”

Mr. Karon has a national practice representing the seriously injured including cases involving traumatic brain injuries, dangerous products, amusement ride accidents, automobile crashes and general negligence cases. He is a Past-President of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys (MATA) and is the current Editor-in-Chief of the MATA Journal. He has been quoted on legal issues in the Boston Globe, New York Times, Boston Herald and Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. He has been an invited speaker on trial practice and personal injury law at educational programs sponsored by the Massachusetts Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education and the Massachusetts
Academy of Trial Attorneys. He has also been published on products liability issues in Trial Magazine, the national publication of the American Association for Justice.
